At present, lithium-ion batteries are mainly square, cylindrical, and soft-packed. The square and cylindrical shells are mainly hard shells such as aluminum alloy and stainless steel, while the soft-packed shell is made of aluminum-plastic film. This is their essential difference. The main advantages of soft-packed lithium batteries composed of soft-packed battery electrolyte in terms of performance include:

(1) Good safety performance: the electrolyte of the soft-pack battery is less leaked, and the soft-pack battery will blow up and crack when there is a potential safety hazard, instead of exploding when the internal pressure of the hard-shell battery is too high;

(2) Light weight: The weight of the soft-pack battery is 40% lighter than the steel shell square battery of the same capacity and 20% lighter than the aluminum shell square battery;

(3) large battery capacity: the soft package saves 20% of the volume, 50% higher than the capacity of the steel shell battery of the same size, and 20-30% higher than the aluminum shell battery;

(4) Good cycle performance: the cycle life of the soft-pack battery is longer, and the 100 cycle attenuation is 4% ~ 7% less than that of the aluminum shell;

(5) Small internal resistance: the internal resistance of the soft-pack battery is smaller than that of the lithium battery, and the domestic small battery can be less than 35mΩ, which greatly reduces the self-consumption of the battery;

(6) Flexible design: the shape can be customized according to customer needs, and it can be made thinner. Ordinary aluminum shell can only be 4mm, and soft bag can be 0.5mm.
